Cleaning-Assisting Effects
- Photo-Catalytic Effect
Organic dirt is loosened from the titanium-oxide-coated surface and disintegrated by incoming UV-radiation.
This ensures an actively continuing support-process for cleaning. - Hydrophilic Effect
Moisture spreads out into an even film of water on the surface. No water droplets form as on an uncoated glass surface. The loosened dirt is removed by the rain, leaving almost no residue. This means stain-free cleanliness and clear transparency.
The photo-catalytic effect also works when, temporarily, daylight is no longer striking the glass. If there is no rain for a long period then it is useful to spray the glass with water. Stubborn dirt can be removed with a gentle cleaning agent. Abrasive means of cleaning (e.g. scourers or steel wool) should not be used, just as with uncoated glass, because they can lead to damaging of the surface.
